![]() While the Lightning and Raptor are two very different trucks built for two very different purposes, they do have one thing in common: they’re ½ tons powered by a gasoline engine. ![]() Starting with the Lightning F-150 and later with the Raptor, quite a few Ford trucks have rolled off the assembly line with some high-performance upgrades. In the world of trucks, Ford also takes a win with the title of best-selling pickup in the US for the past 36 years, so you might think some of that “special sauce” they applied to their performance cars might make its way into the pickups as well, and you’d be right. From the supercharged Terminator Mustangs in the early 2000’s to the road-race inspired GT350 Mustang, Ford made sure everyone knew who was on top of the muscle car mountain. In the world of high-performance cars, Ford has built quite a name for themselves in the last few decades with some special-edition coupes. Notes: Shift Point Up / Down does not apply on manual transmissions. These adjustments will be made to the current tune. This controls how firm the shifts will feel. Shift Pressure: This is a percentage change to the transmission fluid pressure above (+=firmer) or below (-=softer) that the transmission will shift at. Shift Points at WOT: This is the speed in MPH above (+) or below (-) that the vehicle will shift to the next gear at wide open throttle (WOT). Shift Firmer: This will increase the firmness of the shifts above what it is already tuned with. Raised Shift Points: This will raise the MPH that the transmission shifts putting it closer to its power band. It will also aid in engine breaking as well as slight fuel economy improvements. It will transfer more useable power to the transmission after the vehicle is moving. Lock in 1-2-3: This is mainly useful for drag racing. This will also aid in engine braking as well. It can be used in conjunction with the Jake Brake as well.Īggressive Tow-Haul: This file will give a more aggressive shift schedule helping keep the engine in its power band longer while towing. This is less aggressive than the Jake Brake file so it may be ideal for smaller loads. Locked at CT: This will keep the torque converter clutch locked during decell. It will help lower brake temperatures as well when towing over steep grades. Jake Brake: This is used as an exhaust brake to increase engine braking while coasting towing heavier loads. It also has changes to the shift schedule to aid in towing and keeping trans temps down. It has more power than stock, but less than the other files to prevent breakage. Towing: This file should be used when towing any significant loads. It will usually give better fuel economy than street or tow, but cannot be used to tow as EGTs may become dangerously high causing damage to the engine and other components. Performance: This is the most aggressive file. It will give a significant power gain over stock, but still safe enough for towing small loads. Street: This is used for general performance increase and is more conservative than the performance file. I had some questions on this so I dug this up.

Unfortunately, my group has been playing these games over Discord, where it’s a lot harder to direct conversations to one other person without disrupting everyone else. It’s a game designed to be chaotic, forcing players to both work together, and undermine each other, which would be exactly the kind of convoluted, messy gameplay that would liven up any party. In this game, players have to coordinate to accomplish tasks in the totally normal home where devils are pretending to be human. It’s the biggest Party Pack yet, including the return of the classic pop culture trivia mash-up YOU DON’T KNOW JACK: Full Stream the game of hilarious hypotheticals Split the Room the lyric-writing, robot rap battle Mad Verse City the inventive drawing game Patently Stupid and the outer space fling-fest Zeeple. Although it seems that, much like a lot of things in 2020, it’s a victim of circumstance. If there’s one game that did actually bomb (for my groups, anyway), it was The Devil and the Details. Overall it just flows better and feels more like a proper ending to the game. Instead, Quiplash 3 gets rid of this ending and swaps it out for a three-prompt round, where two players are pitted against each other, and can provide three answers to a prompt such as “The three steps to have a perfect little morning.” Each answer is read out one at a time, giving players more of a sense of timing and presentation to their answers. Plus, it’s over pretty quickly in something of an anti-climax. Het is zo simpel als A, C, B Junktopia (3-8 spelers) - Een.29. It’s fine! If you want gritty grain, well-tested development times for push and pull processing, or the ability to darkroom print from the negative, it would be best to stick with black & white negative film.Use this order to prepay for your film processing instead of using a mail form. If you need b&w film urgently or want to use cheap film to give black & white negatives for scanning, C41 colour films like Kodak Color Plus (ISO200), Agfa Vista 400 or any film from the Fuji Superia range (ISO200 to ISO1600) should be a lower-cost alternative to black & white film, especially if you can get short-dated film over the Internet (short-dated colour film should still be fine for black & white work as any colour shifts over time are irrelevant). This is excellent for scanning but is likely to be problematic for anyone wanting to darkroom-print onto gelatine-silver paper. The wide tonal range and fine grain characteristics associated with colour print film is retained when processed in black & white chemistry, though only a black & white negative is obtained on the orange film base of the C41 film. Although only one film type has been tested it is reasonable to assume that other C41 films will respond in the same way as they are formulated for standard machine processing. HP5 cropped to show grain structure ConclusionĬ41 colour film can be processed in standard black & white chemicals to good effect. The cropped images are an identically-sized area (10 x 7mm) of the frame: The black & white film showed normal tonal range (it was a dull day when both films were shot) but more distinctive grain. Inspection of the films under a loupe showed that the colour negative had low contrast and a long tonal scale together with fine grain this is consistent with expectations for standard C41 processing. ![]() The levels were adjusted in Photoshop to give a full tonal range on the histogram but no other manipulation. Vuescan was set to auto-expose and give 2 passes for each frame, which I’ve found significantly reduces noise. The films were scanned using the same scanner and software (Epson V750 and Vuescan). Ilford HP5+ was given 6 minutes at 20C in Rodinal diluted 1+25, 1 minute stop bath, 5 minutes fix. ![]() The C41 film was given 18 minutes at 20C in Rodinal diluted 1+25, 1 minute stop bath, 5 minutes fix. I used the same development time for the C41 film as the Massive Dev Chart recommends for Ilford XP2 (a C41 b&w negative film), so if you want to use a different developer go ahead! I had some out-of-date 35mm C41 colour print film (Kodak GC-400, a cheap, consumer-level ISO400 film, no longer available) and wondered what would happen if I processed it in my normal black & white developer, Rodinal (actually ADOX Adonal, which is identical to the original AGFA formula), so I fired off a roll of the colour film followed by a roll of black & white film at the same ISO400 setting, which I processed in the same chemistry for comparison. Not only is it identical to processing black & white film but the fine grain and wide exposure latitude of C41 colour film is preserved in a black & white negative.ģ5mm colour print film can still be obtained in most city high streets, at least in the UK, and provides an available and low-cost alternative to regular b&w negatives for those willing to process and digitise their film. I have had promising results developing colour print film in standard black & white chemicals. ![]() The fact that you’re getting two excellent tables with it is all the more reason to pick it up. With its unique ways of manipulating ball movement, Theatre or Magic is pure magic on its own, and it’s a must-own table for FX3 owners. There’s a lot of creativity on display here, and that alone makes these a great match for Zen, a studio that enjoys adding its own distinct visual flair to their productions. All three are unique in one way or another – and great showcases of what was mechanically possible in pinball tables during the mid nineties. It’s also a little like Punch-Out with its cartoon-like approach to brawling though, so it rounds out this new trio of tables perfectly. The Champion Pub is a bit of an acquired taste, as it thematically resembles a British pub brawl (or Fight Club, before there was fight club). Pinball FX3 - Williams Pinball: Universal Monsters Pack. Pinball FX3 - Williams Pinball: Volume 6. It’s a fun and different concept, but sadly (and obviously) lacks the original table’s ability to reward you with physical tokens when you’re successful. Pinball FX3 - Williams Pinball: Volume 1. A time-limited table (you don’t need to stress about losing balls), you need to be exact in your aim if you are to break open the safe. The experience translates well to a digital version, which isn’t entirely true for Safecracker – even though its novel core concept does. Most striking among these is a big chest, which rotates as play goes on. Essentially the pinball equivalent of a magic show performance, Theatre of Magic requires you to “perform” a series of tricks in order to reach the table’s big finale – and there are plenty of visual and mechanical props on the table to help (or hinder you). It frequently tops “top tables” lists, and it’s not hard to see why. The star of Volume 3 is without a doubt the Theatre of Magic table, widely regarded as one of the best and more popular original table designs ever made. But… feel free to pleasantly surprise me.Īll three tables, as is customary in Zen productions, come in two distinct flavors – faithful reproductions of the original tables and “Zen-ified” versions that come with 3D animations and interactive elements that aren’t physically possible but create a fun audiovisual experience. Secretly hoping for Indiana Jones as well, but that one never even made it into Pinball Arcade and I’m guessing that license issues are preventing some of the aforementioned tables from making it into FX3 any time soon as well. Zen is still sticking with original table designs though, so I’m still hoping for Star Trek, Addams Family and Terminator 2 tables. Volume 3 comes with Theatre of Magic (1995), Safe Cracker (1996) and The Champions Pub (1998), making this the most “modern” of the Williams packs so far. Here’s what’s new in the third installment, now available for every platform out there that has Pinball FX3. Following up on the excellent first two volumes, Zen Studios has released another trio of pinball tables based on real-life tables by famous pinball developer Williams. The basic particle of an electromagnetic wave is referred to as a photon in the same way that a proton or neutron is a little packet of mass, a photon of light is a little packet of energy. This means that the electromagnetic waves that make up light can also display properties that one would not associate with a wave, but with particles of matter. Energy quantization is a consequence of wave particle duality, which is part of the fundamental nature of electromagnetic waves. The main science behind atomic line spectra lies in energy quantization. This result is again a consequence of the quantization of energy. For an absorption spectra, it is the opposite: atoms will only absorb light that has energy that is equal to one of the gaps between the energy levels, so when the light that was shined on the atom is analyzed, there will be dark bands that correspond to the light that had an energy that could be absorbed by the atom. Only light that has energy that is exactly equal to these gaps will show up in the spectra. When a photon drops from an excited state to a lower state, it gives off a photon with energy equal to that energy difference. An emission spectrum corresponds to the frequencies of photons that have an amount of energy that is equal to the energy spacing between atomic energy levels. An emission spectrum will be a dark band with a few lines of color, and an absorption spectrum will be a colored band with a few dark lines in it. They are colored bands, representing different frequencies of light. Atomic line spectra are a method of visualizing the different frequencies at which different atoms absorb and emit light. The principle that causes such specific wavelengths of light to be emitted can be explained by atomic line spectra. For practical purposes, there are over 50 different types of hollow cathode lamps available on the market. The relaxation back down to less energetic states causes the emission of wavelengths of light specific to the metal on the cathode. As these ions collide with each other, they will be excited to higher energy states. Sputtering is a technical term for ejection of atoms from solid material. These highly energetic charged particles smack into the cathode, causing excited metal ions to sputter off. ![]() Here, ionization is the process where heating breaks the bonds between gas molecules, turning individual atoms into plasma-charged particles composed of positive ions and negative electrons. The glass chamber is filled with an inert gas, which is ionized at low pressure by application of a very high voltage. The mechanism by which a hollow cathode lamp works is actually rather simple. How Hollow Cathode Lamps Work… … the mechanics Without the hollow cathode lamp, sharp absorption peaks due to isolated wavelengths would be much more difficult to obtain. ![]() Through the principle of quantization of energy, a hollow cathode lamp emits very specific wavelengths of light that then is transmitted through the sample of interest to determine concentration of the desired analyte. This technique is heavily dependent on hollow cathode lamps as a light source. A widely used technique in analytical chemistry is atomic absorption spectroscopy, which is a method of determining the concentration of a particular metal element in a solution. ![]() ![]() This article breaks down the steps involved in staking ADA in a self-custodial wallet, the tools needed and the rewards available for the users. Staking pools are a solution for users who want to stake their tokens onto their respective blockchains but do not necessarily play the role of validators on the network. Staking allows ADA holders that do not have the skills or desire to run a node to participate in the network and be rewarded in proportion to the amount of stake delegated. Ouroboros also directly assigns staking rewards to all delegators.Ĭombinatorics is the study of counting and arrangements, while mathematical game theory analyzes strategic interactions between rational decision-makers. These validators are paid by the Ouroboros protocol with a fixed pool cost and an optional margin. Ouroboros uses cryptography, combinatorics, and mathematical game theory to guarantee the protocol’s integrity, longevity and performance. The cumulative stake allows each pool to verify transactions, create blocks and govern the network. The chain was named after the Italian mathematician Gerolamo Cardano and its token ADAUSD is named after the 19th-century mathematician Ada Lovelace.Ĭardano uses Ouroboros, a proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus mechanism where ADA holders can delegate their funds to stake pools. The project is being driven by Input-Output (a Charles Hoskinson company), Emurgo and the Cardano Foundation. Cardano is one of the largest layer-1 blockchain solutions by market capitalization. |
